Arden newcomer Christodoulou “getting the hang of it pretty quickly”

Canadian racer Nico Christodoulou is racing away from the Americas for the first time in his career this weekend, but the Formula Regional convert has showed excellent pace so far.

After sitting in a Tatuus MSV-022 car for the first time only yesterday (Thursday), he’s built up his pace steadily and gone from the back of the pack to being a consistent top-10 contender in less than two days, and was fifth fastest in the final two Friday tests.

“I’m really enjoying the car and the track is amazing” he enthused. “It’s my first time racing here in the UK and overseas in fact, so it’s very new but I’m getting the hang of it pretty quickly and we’ll see what we can do this weekend.”

While he’s pleased with his testing pace and to be matching his expectations, he reckons he can still find more lap time gains across the weekend.

“The pace is pretty good, there’s still things to work on and some more to dig at, so the work is not done and we have to keep going with each session.

“To be honest, expectations heading into the first day I was just trying to sneak into the top-10 at the end of the first day and maybe reach the top five at the end of the second day. We’ve reached those expectations and we’re going for more.

“I’m over the moon to be here, and it’s going to be good.”
