Browning fastest in shortened final Silverstone session – Granfors quickest overall

29 July 2022

Championship leader Luke Browning set the fastest time in the final GB3 test of the day at Silverstone this afternoon (Friday).

The test started 75 minutes behind schedule owing to an incident in a previous track session, and when it did get underway, it was over a shortened 25 minute duration.

The Hitech GP driver’s time of 1m53.554s was 0.282s faster than Arden’s Nico Christodoulou in a shortened final test, though Fortec’s Joel Granfors’ time from earlier today proved to be the quickest overall.

Canadian Christodoulou was just 0.030s faster than Carlin’s Callum Voisin, who had his teammate Roberto Faria only just behind in fourth, as the Brazilian enjoyed his best session of the week.

Douglas Motorsport’s Marcos Flack was 0.151s back in fifth, and 0.043s clear of JHR’s Matthew Rees, with Hitech’s Bryce Aron just 0.017s further back in seventh.

Douglas Motorsport’s Max Esterson was eighth, 0.056s clear of Chris Dittmann Racing’s McKenzy Cresswell, while Hitech’s Cian Shields completed the final session top-10, which was covered by 0.854s.

Once more, the top-18 drivers were separated by less than 1.5 seconds heading into qualifying at 10.20 tomorrow morning.
