Browning sets fastest time of testing with late effort in Friday session one

Hitech GP’s Luke Browning recorded the fastest time of testing so far at Donington Park, with a lap right at the end of the first Friday session.

His effort of 1m23.230s was around four tenths of a second quicker than anything posted yesterday, and put him just 0.037s ahead of Douglas Motorsport’s Max Esterson, who had topped the times late on.

Elite’s Tom Lebbon in third was just 0.023s further back, as 0.060s covered the top-three.

Reigning British F4 Champion Matthew Rees put his JHR Developments car fourth, 0.053s ahead of Arden’s Alex Connor, with Carlin’s Roberto Faria sixth, having topped the early part of the session.

Elite’s John Bennett was less than a tenth further back in seventh, 0.011s ahead of Fortec’s championship leader Joel Granfors.

Bennett’s teammate James Hedley was ninth and only half a second away from top-spot, while Arden’s newcomer Nico Christodoulou continues his impressive start to life in GB3 by completing the top-10, and only 0.803s away from Browning’s time.

Less than a second covered the top-13 runners in the session.

The second test of the day is due to commence at 14.45, with full live timing available on the GB3 website.
