Granfors leads Silverstone session two

29 July 2022

Fortec Motorsport’s Joel Granfors set the fastest time in the second successive session at Silverstone, as he continued his strong testing form.

The Swede’s time of 1m53.723s was around five tenths of a second slower than his effort this morning, as temperatures continued to rise. He was 0.122s clear of Elite’s Tom Lebbon, with JHR Developments’ reigning British F4 champion Matthew Rees a further tenth back in third.

Carlin’s Callum Voisin posted the fourth quickest time, less than a tenth ahead of championship leader Luke Browning’s Hitech car. Browning was 0.062s clear of the second JHR machine of James Hedley, with Chris Dittmann Racing’s McKenzy Cresswell seventh and a tenth further back.

Carlin’s Javier Sagrera was eighth fastest, 0.122s ahead of Hitech’s Cian Shields, a winner here back in May, with Carlin’s third car of Roberto Faria completing the top-10, which was again covered by less than a second.

The third and final session of the week is due to commence at 15.45.
