Rodin Motorsport’s Arthur Rogeon claimed his second GB3 Championship race win in the final encounter of the weekend at Silverstone.

The Frenchman started second but took the lead at Copse on the first lap, as he squeezed past pole sitter Patrick Heuzenroeder.

Rogeon withstood an early safety car restart to head home VRD Racing by Arden’s Shawn Rashid and Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Tymek Kucharczyk, who closed the gap in the championship battle as he took third from seventh on the grid after moving past Elite's Hugo Schwarze halfway around the last lap.

The German driver missed out on a first podium finish as a result, and finished six tenths of a second ahead of JHR's John Bennett, who also gained ground in the championship battle, gaining four places across the contest.

Hitech Pulse-Eight's Gerrard Xie claimed sixth having also gained four places, as did Rodin Motorsport's Louis Sharp, who leaves Silverstone with a slightly reduced championship lead.

Pole sitter Heuzenroeder was shuffled down to eighth, ahead of VRD Racing by Arden's Nikita Johnson, while Hitech's Will Macintyre salvaged 10th from a difficult weekend, gaining eight places across the race.

Rogeon's move at the start proved pivotal, as the race was neutralised early on when Aditya Kulkarni's Hillspeed car spun at the Maggotts/Becketts complex. Before the safety car was deployed, Rashid had also moved past Heuzenroeder, setting up his maiden podium finish.

Rogeon made a good restart after the safety car to establish a gap at the front, while Schwarze moved past Heuzenroeder to take third.

Consistently building his gap at the front, Rogeon clinched his second win of the year by over three seconds, while Rashid was comfortable in second to secure a maiden podium.

Schwarze looked set to also claim a first GB3 trophy, but was caught out at turn 12 on the final lap, allowing Kucharczyk through to take his first podium of the event.
