What they said: Silverstone race one

Tymek Kucharczyk claimed his first GB3 win in dominant style in race one at Silverstone, finishing almost eight seconds clear of McKenzy Cresswell, with Will Macintyre third. Here's the full post-race reaction from each driver.

Winner, Tymek Kucharczyk, Hitech Pulse-Eight:
"I’ve been waiting for this moment for the whole of last year, I’m super grateful to finally achieve this and thanks to my team and all the people supporting me because that’s a big step for me and my career.

"They’ve been super supportive, I know I can trust them and they know I’m quick so it works fine for us and that’s the main thing. If you can be confident in the team and they feel good around you then you’re a winner. I’m super grateful I could show this on track.

"I was quite surprised that our pace was so strong, we dominated the whole race. Obviously the start was the key, I’m super grateful. I hope we can add to this later."

Second, McKenzy Cresswell, Elite Motorsport:
"It’s a circuit we typically go well at so we always look forward to coming back here. Didn’t quite get as good a result as we did last time we were here but that’s ok, we can try again tomorrow. P2 is good points for the championship. I’m pretty pleased with it, we’re racking up the podiums and building up the points tally, that’s how you win the championship. I could not match Tymek today, in the first half of the race I was staying with him and my tyres just fell away. We need to analyse that, see where we went wrong but we’ve got a good spot to start tomorrow so we’ll go for it.

"According to the radar it will be very very wet [tomorrow]. It will throw a spanner in the works and give us something to scratch our head about. It’s a condition that we’ve tested in, I think we’ll be alright, we’ve got some things to change and I’m looking forward to it, we’ll start on the front row so should be good.

"We’ve shown good pace in all conditions, I’m hopeful we can get another podium, even the win. It’s been a very solid start to the year, obviously we’re not where we want to be, we want to be winning races, just need that bit more and then we’ll be there."

Third, Will Macintyre, Hitech Pulse-Eight:
"It was a good one, a very good one for me. My fourth race start in the car, third considering the safety car start at Oulton, second ever dry start, that’s something I need to improve on but other than that, it was a good race. The pace was decent, I kept the gap to the car in front as Tymek pulled away and I kept the gap to people behind. That’s all you can ask for round a track like Silverstone. Everyone is super super happy, its all good.

"It’s one of them where we were expecting a safety car during every single race but there wasn’t one so we kept going the whole race and the rear tyres were going every single lap. I was managing, especially because in the reverse grid race, I might need to use these sets of tyres. I've got to manage it and save them for later.

"We’re quick in the dry, quick in the wet, we’ll see what happens."
