Danish contender Mikkel Grundtvig will stay with Fortec Motorsports for a second season in the GB3 Championship partnered by the BRDC in 2022.
The 19-year-old was a double race winner in the championship in 2021, with both victories coming at Donington Park, including the season finale in October. The Vejle resident also claimed podiums at Spa-Francorchamps, where Fortec locked out the podium positions, and at Oulton Park, during a season that saw plenty of progress after Mikkel readapted to single-seaters following a year in endurance racing.
Grundtvig graduated from Karting in 2017 and was third overall in the Aquila Synergy Cup for sports prototype machines in his first year of car racing, with two victories.
Single-seaters beckoned in 2018 with a race-winning season in the Renault F4 Danish Championship before moving to a dual campaign in Danish and French F4 the following season, with three wins in the former and another triumph in the latter.
The restrictions of the COVID-19 pandemic meant Grundtvig raced solely in his homeland in 2020, but he still became champion of the Danish Endurance Championship at the wheel of a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo, with three wins from seven races.
After reviving his single-seater aspirations with his GB3 efforts last year, Grundtvig is now aiming to make further inroads towards the front of the grid as he remains with Fortec for his sophomore campaign.
