Tom Lebbon claimed a maiden GB3 victory in the second race of the weekend at Silverstone. He finished a second ahead of Fortec’s Joel Granfors with Luke Browning taking third for Hitech. Here’s how each driver reacted after the race.

Winner, Tom Lebbon, Elite Motorsport: “It felt really good to be honest, I controlled the race quite well, I think. First win for both me and the team in GB3, so I think that’s a good result.

“The move into Maggotts and Becketts, it was quite a good move. I got a bit of a run on Joel and managed to make my way through into the right-hander, got the lead from there and controlled it. It’s a good result for the team, in the Teams’ championships as well as the Drivers’ championship.”

Second, Joel Granfors, Fortec Motorsport: “I think the start was good, we got off the line well then obviously into turn one. As Luke was saying yesterday, we’re running a completely different set-up, he is running a lot less wing than everyone else, I think, so he had a lot of speed and momentum heading into Maggotts and Becketts.

“As we came into the right, he was already past me. Then it was just trying to stay with him, he pulled away a bit at the beginning but then I started catching up, but it was a bit too late.”

Third, Luke Browning, Hitech GP: “I’m happy with that, exactly where I want to be to be honest. That’s minimised damage from where we started.

“It’s very difficult to overtake and follow around here, I think I might have pushed a bit too early on as my tyres the worse for wear at the end, but it’s great damage limitation.“
