Tom Lebbon, Callum Voisin and Joel Granfors were the top-three finishers in the second GB3 race of the weekend at Silverstone. Here’s how each driver reacted at the end of the contest.
Winner, Tom Lebbon, Elite Motorsport
“It was a good race, I took the lead off the line and managed to hold it for most of the race. Callum was constantly putting me under pressure and on the last lap I had to defend into Loop One and managed to hold the position but picked up a puncture along the way. I don’t know, but I managed to hold the lead as there were only one or two corners left.
“We start towards the back for race three, but I’m hoping to pick up some places. All in all, I’m happy with the results over the weekend so far, and we’ll see what happens.”
Second, Callum Voisin, Carlin:
“It was kind of self-inflicted really, I had a bad start, so I shouldn’t have been in that position anyway. The restart was extremely good, I got into second and then on the last lap I caught up with Tom. We’ll see what happens, but it felt like I was pushed off a little bit. It’s not going to be my decision, so we’ll see what happens.
“To be honest with the reverse grid race, we’ll just try and bag more points, which is what we’ve been doing. I want to have a clean race and then we’ll move on to Brands.”
Third, Joel Granfors, Fortec Motorsport:
“I wasn’t too worried about catching the guys ahead, they had much better pace than we did, it’s just the way it is. There’s a lot of different set-ups, you can see that Callum and Lebbon are running a lot less downforce than we are. Especially when I went wide in turn one, it felt like Callum was driving a Formula 2 car or something as he just came speeding through! But we’ll take P3 and the championship lead.
“Maybe [Browning and Granfors will fight in race three], we’ll have to find out! Hopefully we can have a good race in the last one, score some good points and try and extend the lead.”
