JsHR Developments’ championship contender Joseph Loake ended the Brands Hatch GP test day on top of the times after setting the best lap of the entire day right at the very end of the final session.
Elite Motorsport’s McKenzy Cresswell looked on course to end the day on top, but Loake’s final flier after the session was red flagged was just enough to snatch away top spot by 0.013 seconds.
In a tight session, the top four were covered by less than a tenth of a second, with Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Alex Dunne and Loake’s teammate Matthew Rees next up and within 0.088s of the fastest time.
David Morales ensured all three JHR cars were inside the top five, ahead of the lead Rodin Carlin car of Costa Toparis.
His teammate and championship leader Callum Voisin was seventh, but caused the red flag with an off at Sheene.
Session one pace setter James Hedley (Arden VRD), Fortec’s Jarrod Waberski and Douglas Motorsport’s Tymek Kucharczyk completed the top-10, which was covered by 0.8 seconds.
The majority of drivers saved fresh tyres for the final session, with only Voisin and Waberski in the combined top-10 setting their personal best laps outside of session three, with their fastest efforts coming in session two.
