Fortec Motorsport’s Max Esterson was the quickest driver as testing got underway at Silverstone this morning (Thursday).
The American driver topped the times with a lap of 1m53.480s, over a quarter of a second clear of JHR Developments trio of Matthew Rees, David Morales and Joseph Loake, who were all covered by around half a tenth a second.
Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Souta Arao was fifth quickest, a further quarter of a second away from championship leader Loake and 0.033s clear of Arden VRD’s James Hedley in sixth.
Jarrod Waberski put the second Fortec car inside the top seven, a tenth of a second ahead of Hitech’s British F4 champion Alex Dunne.
John Bennett (Rodin Carlin) and Zak Taylor (CDR) completed the top-10, which was covered by 0.834s.
The second of today’s four sessions at Silverstone is due to commence at 11.40.
