Following his win from pole yesterday, Rodin Carlin’s Callum Voisin has the chance to claim the GB3 Championship title in the second race of the weekend this morning (Sunday), which is due to commence at 10.07
In order to do so, he needs to extend his championship lead over Alex Dunne by eight points and for Joseph Loake to not outscore him by more than two points.
Should the order in the race remain the same as on the start grid, Voisin won’t win the title in race two, as Dunne is due to start alongside Voisin on the front row. That result would see Voisin gain six points on Dunne, leaving a 34-point gap to the Irishman, which is one less than the maximum available score in the final race of the weekend.
In the event of a tie score in the championship, Dunne would currently emerge on top due to having won more races, meaning Voisin needs a 36-point buffer at the end of race two in order to wrap up the title a race early.
Instead, the following permutations will see Voisin win the title.
If Voisin wins, and Dunne is third or lower, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is second, and Dunne is fourth or lower with Loake not winning, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is third, and Dunne is seventh or lower with Loake outside the top-two, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is fourth, and Dunne is eighth or lower with Loake outside the top-three, Voisin is champion
If Voisin if fifth, and Dunne is 10th or lower with Loake outside the top-four, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is sixth, and Dunne is 12th or lower with Loake outside the top-five, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is seventh, and Dunne is 14th or lower with Loake outside the top-six, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is eighth, and Dunne is 16th or lower with Loake outside the top-seven, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is ninth, and Dunne is 17th or lower with Loake outside the top-seven, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is 10th, and Dunne is 18th or lower with Loake outside the top-eight, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is 11th, and Dunne is 19th or lower with Loake outside the top-nine, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is 12th, and Dunne is 20th or lower with Loake outside the top-10, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is 13th, and Dunne is 21st or lower with Loake outside the top-11, Voisin is champion
If Voisin is 14th or lower, he cannot win the title in race two
