Voisin seals Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup for second successive season

24 October 2023

Rodin Carlin’s Callum Voisin not only secured the GB3 title last weekend, but he also achieved the unique feat of winning the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup for the second year in succession.

Voisin claimed both pole positions in qualifying at the East Midlands venue, his sixth of the season, and more than double the amount of any other driver. In doing so, he claimed the end of season £2,000 prize, plus a trophy, from award founder John Cavill, in addition to the £1,500 he earned over the course of the season.

In addition to his Donington double, he also claimed poles at Spa-Francorchamps, Snetterton and Brands Hatch.

The British-Swiss driver also created a bit of history in the process, as he became the first driver to win the prize more than once.

He claimed five pole positions in his maiden campaign in 2022, meaning across the past two seasons, he’s earned £6,750 in prize money.

Other winners of the award in previous seasons include Jake Hughes, George Russell, Linus Lundqvist and Zak O’Sullivan.

Voisin's Rodin Carlin team also claimed the David Poole-Warren Pole Position Cup, and the £2,000 prize that goes with it.

The Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup has run since the inaugural BRDC F4 campaign in 2013, with pole positions rewarded with a £250 prize and a trophy, supplied by award founder John Cavill, a key supporter of up and coming racing talent for several decades.
