Daniel Mavlyutov, Nico Christodoulou and Lucas Staico were the top three finishers in the final GB3 Championship race of the weekend at Brands Hatch. Here's how each driver reacted at the end of the contest.
Winner, Daniel Mavlyutov, Hillspeed:
"To start with, they crashed behind me. Then the safety car, took a bit too long the safety car in my opinion, took like ten minutes. It’s fine, I got a good restart, led away from that. I didn’t really have to fight anyone and just sort of drove away, I think it was a good race.
"We were a second faster in this race than in qualifying, but we’re working on that. Races are a bit better but soon enough quali will be good as well."
Second, Nico Christodoulou, Arden VRD:
"It wasn’t too bad. I didn’t know that there would be a big pile up in turn one so I just went to the outside and hoped for the best. I ended up coming out third which wasn’t too bad but I was aiming to be a little bit higher by the end of the first lap. The safety car came out and I just made sure I maximised the rest of the race.
"The reverse grid, it’s not where everyone wants to be but I’m hoping that Zandvoort and Donington are some high finishing weekends."
Third, Lucas Staico, Douglas Motorsport:
"Yeah I think we had a pretty good start, through the whole weekend we didn’t have much pace so it was hard at the start to try and hold the guys behind. I think I had a very good start to be P2 but then in the safety car restart, I had a problem with the gears, I think I got stuck in first gear and then it was just to hold P3 until the rest of the race.
"I want to thank everyone that is watching, that supports me, supports Douglas, supports this championship. I think it’s good to have a lot of viewers for categories that support drivers on their way to F1 so it’s good to have a lot of people watching."
