Kanato Le, who made his GB3 debut at Spa-Francorchamps earlier this season, set the pace in testing at Norfolk’s Snetterton circuit today (Wednesday).
The Japanese talent, driving for Hitech Pulse-Eight, was fastest in three of the four sessions held during the day, though it was his final session effort of 1m41.315s that put him quickest overall.
That was enough to put him 0.123s clear of JHR’s championship challenger John Bennett, with his best time coming in session two earlier in the day.
Bennett’s teammate Patrick Heuzenroeder was third quickest courtesy of his final session time, less than a tenth of a second behind Bennett and 0.158s clear of Elite Motorsport’s Jarrod Waberski in fourth.
Waberski’s fellow Elite runner McKenzy Cresswell posted the fifth fastest time, again with a final session blast, putting him 0.018s ahead of the lea Chris Dittmann Racing driver, with the name withheld from the timing sheets.
The Gloucestershire squad’s regular runners Seb Murray and Flynn Jackes were next up, the pair led the third session of the day, with those times good enough to put them seventh and eighth on the combined classification.
Hitech’s British F4 front-runner Reza Seewooruthun was ninth fastest thanks to his session two effort, and was just over three quarters of a second away from Le’s day topper.
Fortec Motorsport gave a GB3 test outing to their F4 contender Kai Daryanani, who completed the top-10, while Alex Kattoulas continued his testing programme with the squad, and set the 11th best time.
