Hitech Pulse-Eight has confirmed that race winner Gerrard Xie will move over to the team for the 2024 GB3 Championship season.

The Hong Kong-born driver made his series debut last year, having climbed the ranks in karting from the CIK-FIA Karting Academy Trophy through the IAME Asia Series and the IAME Asia Cup, where he took third in class in 2020. He also competed in the FIA Karting European Championship at OK level and the WSK Euro Series.

He then dominated the F4 Chinese Championship in 2022, claiming the series title with 12 race wins, before finishing as runner-up in that year’s Macau Grand Prix.

Moving up to GB3 last year as part of the Hitech GP Academy, Xie made strong progress throughout the campaign, including a standout weekend at Spa-Francorchamps where he claimed two top-five finishes.

His season ended in fine style, with a lights to flag victory in the final race of the year at Donington Park in which he build up a lead of over six seconds within the first three laps.

Xie now moves to the Hitech Pulse-Eight squad, which won the drivers’ title with Luke Browning in 2022, whilst also claiming the teams’ honours, and was runner-up with Alex Dunne last year.

Gerrard Xie said: "I am very proud to be representing such a prestigious team for the 2024 GB3 season.

“I have gained a lot of experience and confidence throughout last season. Now I am ready to keep pushing my development forwards and aiming for some great results and performances throughout 2024.

“A huge thank you to my family and sponsors for this opportunity. I will be working as hard as I can to achieve the best possible results for everyone involved."
