GB3 champion Callum Voisin powers to first FIA F3 win at Spa

28 July 2024

Reigning GB3 champion Callum Voisin secured his first FIA F3 Championship victory in the Feature Race at Spa-Francorchamps on Sunday morning.

The British-Swiss driver, who claimed his first pole position in F3 this weekend, led every lap despite tricky damp conditions off line.

Multiple safety car periods in the 15 lap contest also meant he wasn’t able to escape his rivals behind, having to ensure three restarts including one with just two laps to go.

But each time, the Rodin Motorsport contender was able to build just enough of a gap to escape the tow from Sebastian Montoya behind, and aced the final restart to control the final two laps.

Voisin also set the race’s fastest lap, ensuring he claimed the full 26 points on offer at the legendary Belgian circuit. The victory continues a fine run of form in the second half of the season, with his first points and then a podium at Silverstone, strong points at the Hungaroring, and now a maiden win.

Fellow GB3 alumni Luke Browning and Max Esterson finished sixth and seventh, with Alex Dunne, who started on the front row, completing the top-10.
