Tatuus: The MSV GB3-025 is a “special one”

12 June 2024

The new GB3 car for 2025, the Tatuus MSV GB3-025, is the result of exceptional collaborative work behind the scenes between series organisers MotorSport Vision (MSV), constructor Tatuus and engine provider Mountune.

Italian firm Tatuus is already renowned as one of the world’s foremost racing car constructors, with a storied history of success in multiple formulae across the past four decades.

But for Tatuus President Gianfranco De Bellis, the GB3-025 is a milestone design, noting “The MSV GB3-025 is a special one for every one of us."

The car has undergone significant CFD modelling at the Tatuus HQ, resulting in an F1-style aerodynamic package that is expected to add 35% more downforce at the same drag level as the current GB3 car, as well as the inclusion of DRS for the first time.

“We worked hard and with passion to give light to an innovative and iconic single-seater, and we cannot wait to see it on track in 2025," De Bellis continued.

“A sincere special thank you must go to Jonathan Palmer and his entire staff, not only for their long term trust in our brand, but also for the primary role MSV are playing in the motorsports industry.”

The new GB3 car marks 10 seasons of partnership between MSV and Tatuus, a combination which has already produced an impressive 27 FIA F3 drivers, with nine contenders reaching Formula 2. Three drivers have from this era have made it to the pinnacle of Formula One.

In addition, five drivers have raced in IndyCar, with further competitors reaching Super Formula in Japan, Formula E, W Series, Le Mans and top-level sports cars, while six alumni have won the Aston Martin Autosport BRDC Young Driver of the Year Award since 2016, and thus gone on to test F1 machinery.

That track record is highlighted by Tatuus CEO Giovanni Delfino.

“Long term cooperation with MSV and the GB3 Championship is a key one for Tatuus, and one already able to give light to some major high performing single-seaters, making it possible year after year for many pro drivers to grow up and build the necessary experience to join the grids of the most important championships in the world.”

The likelihood of more future F1 stars racing in GB3 with the new car is one that provides plenty of additional excitement.

“We are sure that the MSV GB3-025 will represent a new step in this same direction, confirming once more the relevance of the GB3 Championship on the single-seater pyramid, and Tatuus engineering abilities at the same time.”
