Kucharczyk takes lead of Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup

04 June 2024

Hitech Pulse-Eight's Tymek Kucharczyk claimed the GB3 Championship lead at Spa-Francorchamps, courtesy of a double win and a surge up the order to fourth in the reverse grid finale.

But that wasn't the only battle he took control of in Belgium, for his third pole position of the year, secured in qualifying, also ensured he claimed the lead of this year's Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup.

Having claimed both poles at Silverstone, his race one pole at Spa meant the Polish driver went one clear at the top of the chart. He did so in style too, with his pole lap being three tenths of a second quicker than the championship's previous qualifying lap record at the home of the Belgian Grand Prix. With £250 and a trophy on offer for each pole, Kucharczyk now has £750 prize money for the year so far.

JHR Developments' John Bennett also entered the race for the £2,000 end of year prize, with his pole for race two, and was only half a tenth away from Kucharczyk's outright benchmark.

Kucharczyk is now one clear at the top of the standings, with Rodin's Louis Sharp second with two after his Oulton Park double.

2024 Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup standings:

1. Tymek Kucharczyk, Hitech Pulse-Eight, 3 poles
2. Louis Sharp, Rodin Motorsport, 2 poles
