Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Will Macintyre claimed his third win of the season in race three at Spa-Francorchamps, and en route to his latest success, claimed the Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award.
With conditions improving as the weekend went on, the fastest race laps of the event came in the final contest of the event, with Macintyre’s 2m17.160s being the benchmark, and three tenths of a second quicker than any other contender.
That ensured he became the latest winner of the prize, with Rodin Motorsport’s Louis Sharp setting the fastest lap at the Oulton Park season opener, and Macintyre’s teammate Tymek Kucharczyk claiming the award at Silverstone.
"It’s been a great job by the whole team all weekend, the car felt like a literal rocket ship. That’s six wins in a row now for Hitech!" Macintyre said at the end of the event.
"I’m really enjoying the European tour so far and we just need to sort qualifying out so I can be up there with Tymek in the first two races."
