On his strongest weekend yet in the GB3 Championship, Hitech Pulse-Eight’s Tymek Kucharczyk proved that he’s a Silverstone master by winning the Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award.
The Polish driver claimed the same prize at the equivalent event last year, and this time around put in a lap time of 1m53.367s in the first race of the weekend.
The award caps off an excellent weekend for the 18-year-old, who claimed his first pole positions and first victory in GB3. A podium finish in the second race lifted him to fifth in the standings after the first five contests of the season.
Kucharczyk is the second driver to claim the award this season, following Rodin Motorsport’s championship leader Louis Sharp, who set the fastest race lap at the Oulton Park season opener.
“Silverstone finally turned out to be lucky for me” he said. “I’m proud that the first win in GB3 took place on this legendary track. Thank you to the Hitech GP team for their hard work and the fans for their amazing support!”
