Hillspeed’s Freddie Slater is looking forward to his return to the GB3 Championship at the end of the month (23/24 August) after topping testing on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit last Wednesday.
The British driver is returning to the championship after already securing three wins across the two rounds of the 2025 season he has competed in at Silverstone and Spa, including a remarkable win in race three at the Belgian circuit where he scythed through the field to win from 23rd on the grid.
Since then, Slater has contested the Spa round of the FIA Formula 3 Championship as well as continuing to lead the Formula Regional European Championship by Alpine (FRECA) standings, with the Warwickshire racer now gearing up for his third GB3 weekend of the season at Brands Hatch.
After a successful day of testing at the Kent venue last week, in which he topped the timesheet with a lap that was almost half a second quicker than the official race lap record for the series, Slater feels he is well prepared for his Brands Hatch return.
“Yeah it’s been great to come back to a track like this- Brands Hatch GP. It’s one of my favourites, so to be here in such a great car that’s so committed in the high speed with the mad downforce we have is always good fun, especially when coming back after changing the discipline I’ve been in.
“It’s nice to jump in something different and try to adapt as quickly as possible and that was the target today.
“I’m all ready for the race that comes at the end of the month and I look forward to it.”
