Hillspeed's Freddie Slater topped the times in GB3 Championship testing on the Brands Hatch Grand Prix circuit on Wednesday, with a lap quicker than the official race lap record for the series.
The British contender, already a three-time race winner in GB3, registered a 1m18.634s in the third and final session of the day, almost half a second quicker than the race lap record.
With the field warming up for the event at the legendary venue in just over two weeks' time, Slater's effort was 0.157s quicker than Rodin's championship leader Alex Ninovic, who was fastest in the first two sessions of the day, with Hitech's Deagen Fairclough next up in third.
Fairclough's teammate Keanu Al Azhari, who claimed a breakthrough win last weekend at Silverstone, was just 0.015s behind his teammate and 0.058s ahead of Xcel Motorsport's title challenger Patrick Heuzenroeder, who set his best time in session two.
The remainder of the top-10 all set their best laps in the final session, with Elite's Will Macintyre sixth, and three hundredths of a second ahead of the second Hillspeed machine of Hiyu Yamakoshi.
Rodin's Gianmarco Pradel was 0.016s in arrears, and nine thousandths of a second quicker than JHR's Noah Lisle. Pradel's teammate Abbi Pulling completed the top-10.
