The Elite Motorsport squad has wasted no time in getting pre-season preparations underway with their brand new Tatuus MSV GB3-025 car at Jerez.
Eddie Ives’ team collected their first new car from GB3’s Technical Headquarters at Bedford Autodrome on Friday, and took it straight to the former Grand Prix venue in the south of Spain.
With confirmed 2025 drivers Will Macintyre and Bianca Bustamante at the wheel, the brand new machine completed two days of track action across Monday and Tuesday, registering over 130 laps of the 2.7 mile circuit straight out of the box, with lap times improving by almost five seconds throughout the two days.
Multiple GB3 race-winner Macintyre was entrusted with the car’s first laps, and he was delighted to sample his new toy for 2025.
“Thanks to the boys and girls at Elite Motorsport for getting us out so quick, it feels unreal. It runs like a Swiss watch!” he remarked on Instagram.
Elaborating further, Macintyre added: "It's been flawless so far, and I'm super happy with the job the team has done to get it out so quick.
"It's been interesting as a driver going from the old GB3 car to the new one, it's definitely a step into the right direction for getting us drivers to be ready for higher formulas.
"It's also been great to get used to some of the new features, the DRS in particular is really cool! I'm super excited for the next tests, it's been a lot of fun and I can't wait for more."
Elite is scheduled to complete further testing this week, while several teams will take their new cars to Donington Park on Thursday.
