Rodin Motorsport’s championship leader Alex Ninovic wrapped up his successful Hungaroring visit by claiming his first Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award.
The Australian driver set a new GB3 lap record around the Hungarian Grand Prix venue in the second race of the weekend, with his 1m38.121s lap being almost a second and a half quicker than the previous record, established by eventual champion Louis Sharp last year.
It was a closely fought contest for the prize though, with race two runner-up Keanu Al Azhari setting a time just 0.052s slower in the same contest.
Ninovic’s teammate Gianmarco Pradel set the fastest lap in race one, a 1m38.951s in race one, while runaway race three winner Reza Seewooruthun (Argenti with Prema) set the best time in that contest, a 1m39.726s.
The Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award is presented by GB3's control fuel supplier to the driver who sets the fastest race lap at each race event.
Ninovic is the third driver to win the prize this season, with Freddie Slater claiming the honour at Silverstone and Spa-Francorchamps, and Patrick Heuzenroeder at Zandvoort.
