The 2025 running of the Le Mans 24 Hours takes place this weekend (14/15 June), with eight GB3 alumni set to participate in one of the world's most prestigious events. Graduates are represented in all three classes at the event, including three in the top Hypercar division.
Hypercar
Ross Gunn & Tom Gamble - #007 Aston Martin THOR Team (Aston Martin Valkyrie)
The stunning V12-powered Aston Martin Valkyrie makes its Le Mans 24 Hours debut this year, with two GB3 alumni teammates paired in the same 007 machine. 2014 BRDC F4 race winner Ross Gunn and 2018 BRDC British F3 race winner Tom Gamble form part of an all-British line-up alongside Harry Tincknell. Gunn, who has become an Aston Martin factory driver since his single-seater days in 2013, has completed three Le Mans 24 Hour races already, finishing fourth in class back in 2017. The now 28-year-old also finished seventh in the 2019-20 FIA World Endurance Championship with Aston Martin in the LMGTE Am division, and was the IMSA runner-up in 2024.
Gamble meanwhile, who also won the McLaren Autosport BRDC Award in 2018, has raced at Le Mans twice in the last four years, and was crowned European Le Mans Series champion in the LMP3 division in 2020, and was the runner-up in LMP2 the following season. After a stint as a McLaren factory driver, the 23-year-old will now make his first 24 Hour appearance in the topline Hypercar category alongside Gunn this weekend.
Nico Varrone - #99 Proton Competition (Porsche 963)
The Argentinian driver competed in BRDC British F3 across the 2019 and 2020 campaigns, taking a brilliant victory at Spa-Francorchamps in just his second weekend. Since then he's established himself as one of the world's leading sports car contenders, and has won his class at Le Mans for the past two seasons; GTE Am with Corvette in 2023 and LMP2 Pro-Am with AF Corse 12 months ago. This year marks his Hypercar debut, switching to the German Proton Competition squad at the wheel of a Porsche 963.
LMP2
Jamie Chadwick - #18 IDEC Sport (Oreca 07-Gibson)
Since making history as the first woman to win a British F3 race, Chadwick has gone on to become one of the world's leading female contenders, winning the W Series for three consecutive years before moving to American competition in 2023, winning an Indy NXT race in 2024. She's now made the switch to sports cars, to great acclaim, and leads the European Le Mans Series having won both races so far at Barcelona and Paul Ricard. This weekend's event is her Le Mans 24 Hours debut.
Pietro Fittipaldi - #22 United Autosports (Oreca 07-Gibson)
The Brazilian driver was a BRDC F4 race winner in the championship's inaugural 2013 season, and has raced just about everything since then, including two F1 races in 2020, multiple IndyCar events, the DTM and numerous sports car categories. This weekend marks his third Le Mans 24 Hours, though he's no stranger to the Oreca 07-Gibson having competed in IMSA, the World Endurance Championship and at Le Mans with the chassis/engine combination in recent years, with a win at Monza in 2023.
Sebastián Álvarez - #28 IDEC Sport (Oreca 07-Gibson)
The Mexican driver was a GB3 race winner with Hitech GP in 2021, and made the move to sports cars in the following season, and was successful immediately with third place in that year's European Le Mans Series LMP3 standings. Moving up to LMP2, he was the runner-up in 2024, and makes his Le Mans 24 Hours debut this weekend.
Clément Novalak - #29 TDS Racing (Oreca 07-Gibson)
The Frenchman won the 2019 BRDC British F3 Championship and climbed the ranks through FIA Formula 3 and Formula 2 afterwards, finishing third in F3 two years after his British F3 title, and was an F2 race winner at Zandvoort in 2023. He switched to sports cars last year, finishing seventh in the European Le Mans Series LMP2 division and finished second in class at Le Mans with Inter Europol Competition.
LMGT3
Charlie Eastwood - #81 TF Sport (Chevrolet Corvette Z06 GT3.R)
Ireland's Eastwood arrived in BRDC F4 in 2014 as a World Karting Champion, and he was a double podium finisher in his first single-seater campaign. He moved to sports cars in 2016, finishing third in the Porsche Carrera Cup GB that year, before taking the title next time around. Further titles have followed in the Blancpain GT Series Endurance Cup (2019) and Asian Le Mans Series LMP2 (2023). He's competed at Le Mans five times, winning his class with TF Sport in its Aston Martin era in 2020, and was runner-up with the same squad the following season.
