Australian duo Patrick Heuzenroeder and Alex Ninovic became the second and third drivers to take a pole position in the GB3 Championship this year, with their qualifying efforts at Zandvoort last weekend.
Xcel Motorsport's Heuzenroeder claimed his first GB3 pole with a lap of 1m30.041s in Q1 at the Dutch Grand Prix venue, at the time, a new qualifying lap record. He enjoyed a margin of almost four tenths of a second over the field.
Rodin's Ninovic quickly beat that time in Q2 for the race two grid though, lowering the benchmark down to a 1m29.894s, as he also secured a maiden pole in GB3. In a closer session, Ninovic was just under a tenth clear at the front.
Both drivers earned a trophy and £300 for their respective pole positions as part of the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup. Hillspeed's Freddie Slater currently leads the race to secure the end of year £2,000 prize thanks to his double pole at Silverstone.
The team of the driver with the most poles at the end of the season will also secure a £2,000 prize.
Prizes at each round are handed out by John Cavill, son of Jack, who has been a huge supporter of young drivers in MSV series since 2013.
