Just over a month has passed since the GB3 Championship season came to a close at Monza, but in the following weeks, teams and drivers have barely stopped as preparations for 2026 begin.
Over 30 drivers have already sampled the Tatuus MSV GB3-025 car recently across at least six different circuits, spanning venues in the UK and Europe.
In a first sign of the cosmopolitan nature of next year's potential grid, the drivers known to have tested GB3 machinery so far this winter represent 18 different nations, and from championships including British, French, Italian and Spanish F4, several from GB4, plus racers from Formula Regional and F1 Academy.
A major test took place at Spa-Francorchamps at the start of November, in which 16 different drivers participated across two days. Quickest lap times reported were in the 2m12.2s bracket, over a second quicker than the pole position lap time recorded at the venue earlier this year.
For many, the Red Bull Ring was the next destination, with 15 drivers on track for two days of testing on 13/14 November, ahead of GB3's first Austrian round next summer. In the Styrian hills, GB3 cars registered a best lap time of 1m26.385s.
Silverstone has also been a popular destination, with three days of running on 18/19/20 November, ahead of three more days at the British Grand Prix venue starting from Monday this week, with 14 drivers at the circuit on Tuesday.
Testing has also taken place at Donington Park and Snetterton, while Arden's Leon Wilson, the series' first confirmed driver for 2026, sampled the car for the first time at Anglesey before moving on to more traditional GB3 venues.
A handful of cars have also visited the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya this week, scene of next year's season finale, with lap times in the 1m34.2 bracket recorded so far.
All cars have been testing in 2025 configuration, with the 2026 upgrade package to be applied to all machinery at the start of next year. Development of the 2026 upgrade package is continuing at MSV's Circuito de Navarra in Spain.
