Championship leader Ninovic: "this weekend could be cool"

01 October 2025

Ahead of what may be one of the most important race weekends of his career so far, Rodin's championship leader Alex Ninovic took in a visit to the Prodrive headquarters in Banbury, to take a behind the scenes look at one of the UK's most renowned motorsport organisations.

The Australian was able to get an in depth look at some of the legendary rally, touring car, GT and Dakar machinery that has resulted in unparalleled success across the past four decades, as well as setting a new record time on the stunning Prodrive Racing Simulator. The visit made a big impression on him ahead of the Donington Park weekend where he could wrap up the title.

"Today has been an amazing day to go around Prodrive and see all the different categories and different things that they do. It's definitely very inspiring and a nice little treat ahead of a busy weekend!" he enthused.

Ninovic could become the new GB3 champion this weekend should he extend his lead by 31 points at the end of the weekend, but he is taking things in his stride for now.

"This weekend could be quite cool, the championship is far away but also at the same time can be quite close and we'll see how it goes. I'll be trying my hardest to be at the front, and the rest will be as it will be."

The 18-year-old has been the driver to beat so far, with six wins and a further podium from the 18 races held so far, to give him a comfortable gap at the top of the standings.

"The last three, four, five rounds have been really nice, and it shows that we can do it repeatedly, so I'm hoping with a little bit of luck we will be able to do something similar this weekend. I know the team has been doing an amazing job with the car, I'm sure it will be fast and if we put it all together we should be at the front somewhere.

"As long as we can score some good points this weekend, that's the main goal and anything extra is a bonus."

The tour at Prodrive was provided by long-time GB3 Pole Position Cup Award founder John Cavill, and we express our thanks for his continued generosity and support of drivers in MSV championships.
