Hillspeed's Lucas Fluxa ended his debut weekend with the team by claiming his maiden GB3 victory from pole position in the final race of the weekend at Donington Park.
But the big story was Rodin's Alex Ninovic securing the championship title with a full round remaining. Needing to outscore main rivals Patrick Heuzenroeder (Xcel Motorsport) and Gianmarco Pradel (Rodin Motorsport), he did just that, with both his rivals retiring from the contest in any case.
Fluxa led from lights to flag, navigating two safety car restarts to take the win. JHR Developments' Bart Harrison, starting from third, maneuvered past Fortec Motorsports' Liam McNeilly and recovered from Xcel's Jack Sherwood's attacks to finish second, his first podium in the series on his debut weekend.
The final podium spot went to McNeilly, also a GB3 debutant. Sherwood had a fantastic launch at the second safety car restart and almost got up into second but misjudged the move and dropped back to fourth. Completing the top five was Hitech TGR's Keanu Al Azhari.
Noah Lisle of JHR Developments claimed sixth, under two tenths back from Al Azhari. Just behind him was championship winner Alex Ninovic in seventh, who did all he needed to, to claim the title with three races at Monza still to come.
Racelab's Max Taylor made impressive progress from 16th on the grid to finish eighth, while VRD's Enzo Tarnvanichkul, who had an early skate over the grass, finished ninth. Rounding off the top ten finishers was Tarnvanichkul's team mate Patricio Gonzalez.
Going into the race, Ninovic simply needed to finish ahead of his main rivals Heuzenroeder and Pradel to seal the 2025 title. With Heuzenroeder caught up in a lap one incident at the chicane that also eliminated Reza Seewooruthun, Flynn Jackes and Abbi Pulling, and with Pradel then off at Coppice late on, Ninovic simply needed to score three points to seal the title.
