Newly crowned champion Alex Ninovic earned his fourth consecutive Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award at Donington Park last weekend.
The Australian was again in dominant form as he romped to another double victory, with his fastest race lap of the weekend, a 1m22.823 coming in the second race of the event. Having jumped the start and therefore needing to extend a lead of 10 seconds or more to keep hold of the win, Ninovic delivered searing pace, and his best lap was over a second quicker than his qualifying time on Saturday morning!
He also set the fastest lap in race one, with a time around eight tenths slower than his outright best the following day, and Ninovic was the only driver to lap the circuit in the 1m22s bracket all weekend.
JHR Developments' series newcomer Bart Harrison was the other driver to clock a fastest lap across the event, with a 1m23.712s in race three.
The Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award is presented by GB3's control fuel supplier to the driver who sets the fastest race lap at each race event.
Ninovic also won the award at the Hungaroring, Silverstone, and at Brands Hatch. Hillspeed's Freddie Slater has won the award twice, claiming it at the season-opening Silverstone event and at Spa-Francorchamps, while Xcel Motorsport's Patrick Heuzenroeder was the winner at Zandvoort.
