Hitech's Deagen Fairclough may not have secured the results he'd have liked at Silverstone last weekend, but he did at least end the event on a positive note by claiming the Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award.
The British driver, embarking upon his second campaign in GB3, claimed the award for the fastest race lap of the weekend, breaking the GB3 lap record in the process, which had been unbeaten for four years.
Fairclough's best lap came in race two, as he registered a 1m50.059s in pursuit of a podium finish. That time was over 2.7 seconds quicker than Luke Browning's lap, set way back in 2022.
Double race winner was the first driver to break the previous lap record with his 1m50.345s in race one, while race three winner Jin Nakamura steered his Hitech car to a 1m50.557s in the closing race of the event.
The Sunoco Fastest Driver of the Weekend Award is presented by GB3's control fuel supplier to the driver who sets the fastest race lap at each race event.
