The GB3 Championship will hold a three-event, 12-race ‘Copa del Sol Series’ in February 2027 across three leading Spanish venues.
GB3’s inaugural European three-event series will start at MotorLand Aragón on 13/14 February, before moving to Circuito del Jarama the following weekend (20/21 February). GB3’s first Copa del Sol champion will be crowned at the Circuito de Jerez on 27/28 February.
Each two-day race event will feature four qualifying sessions and four races, with the grid formation for each race determined by its own dedicated qualifying session. Such a format will maximise each driver's opportunities at all events, while also providing an equal focus on outright pace and race craft.
Every event will be preceded by two days of official testing, allowing drivers to get up to speed at the class-leading circuits, as well as building valuable seat time in GB3 machinery.
The GB3 Copa del Sol will be open to drivers aged 16 and over, including those planning to compete in the full 2027 GB3 season, drivers exploring a step up from GB4 and F4, or contenders looking to gain GB3 experience in a lower pressure environment.
As with main season race events, MSV, Pirelli and Sunoco Race Fuels will provide full technical support at each meeting.
GB3 teams will exceptionally be permitted to run a maximum of four cars during the Copa del Sol, an increase of one car per team compared to usual main season regulations.
Full regulations, registration fees and additional event details will be available in the coming weeks, while entries will open shortly.
