After a race-winning cameo at the Monza finale last year, German driver Maxim Rehm has confirmed he'll be back for a full season in 2026, and joins reigning champions Rodin Motorsport for a tilt at the title.
Rehm arrives in GB3 having also proven himself as a winner in F4, but he switches categories buoyed by that end of season victory in Italy. He wants to make an instant impact again when the season gets underway in April.
"Winning at Monza last year definitely gave me a lot of confidence" he remarks. "It showed that I can make an impact in GB3, even coming into the series without a full season of experience.
"Going into 2026, the goal is to build on that momentum from the very start and be consistently fighting at the front."
Considering he was up against drivers that had done the full season, Rehm's performance for Hillspeed included a top-five qualifying result, sixth place in the first contest and then the victory in the season finale, strengthening his decision to move to GB3 full-time for 2026.
"I wouldn't say I was surprised, but I was really proud of how quickly we found the pace.
"Monza is a track that suits my driving style, so from the beginning of the weekend I felt comfortable and confident in the car. Of course, you always go into a race weekend hoping for a strong result — but to come away with the win was a special moment.
"The Monza performance definitely reinforced my decision, but the plan to move into GB3 was already quite clear before that. The result just confirmed that it was the right step at the right time in my career and gave me extra belief going into this season."
With his move to Rodin, Maxim joins the team that has secured the last three championship titles with Callum Voisin, Louis Sharp and Alex Ninovic, and four more crowns before that. He's hoping to join their roster of GB3 champions.
"I’m extremely excited to be racing with Rodin this year. They’re multiple champions and have a very strong reputation in junior formula racing. For me, it’s the perfect environment to develop further as a driver and to fight for top results together.
"My ambitions for the season are very clear — I want to be consistently at the front, fighting for podiums and wins. If we execute everything properly as a team, I definitely believe we can put ourselves in a position to fight for the title."
Having already gained experience of the Tatuus MSV GB3-025 car, he's now looking forward to sampling the further upgraded machine when testing commences.
"I’m really looking forward to pre-season testing with the updated car. Any development over the winter is important, and testing will be key to understanding the changes, maximizing performance, and making sure we start the season as prepared as possible."
