South Korea’s Kyuho Lee will make his GB3 Championship debut with Elite Motorsport this year.
The 17-year-old enters the series having made his car racing debut in 2025, scoring top-10 results along with Rookie success in the Middle East F4, Southeast Asia F4 and Spanish F4 Championships along with the Macau F4 World Cup last November.
Lee began karting in 2017, becoming the Korean National Champion and representing his country in the RMC Grand Finals in 2018, 2021 and 2023 plus the 2022 FIA Karting Academy Trophy.
Kyuho’s first full international karting season came in 2024, claiming a podium in the Dutch-Belgian Championship, top-10 placings in the IAME Euro Series, seventh in the FIA International Karting Ranking (X30 Seniors) and won the FIA OK-N World Cup.
He is a member of the Genesis Magma Racing Trajectory Programme, which aims to raise the profile and following of motorsport in South Korea, and will carry the marque's branding on his race suit and car for the 2026 season.
Kyuho Lee: "My goal this year is to show steady progress, score points regularly, step on the podium and win races but also build a strong foundation that prepares me for the next stage of my career.
“I chose GB3 because it’s one of the most competitive and well-structured junior single-seater championships in Europe. It offers a very high technical level, featuring strong teams, excellent circuits and a clear pathway towards FIA Formula 3 and beyond.
“For a driver aiming to build a serious long-term motorsport career in Europe, GB3 is the ideal environment to develop race craft, technical understanding and mental strength against top-level competition.
“As a rookie, my main focus this year is development, consistency and learning. I want to adapt quickly to the car, understand the tyres and race formats and deliver clean, competitive performances throughout the season.
“My first year in cars was in 2025, which was mainly focused on learning and adaptation rather than immediate results. Coming from a strong karting background, I used the season to understand key car racing fundamentals such as aerodynamics, tyre management, race strategy and working closely with engineers.
“Elite Motorsport has a proven record of developing young drivers and achieving strong results in GB3. What impressed me most was their clear focus on driver development, the experience of their engineering team and their structured, professional approach.
“As a Rookie, it is very important to be in an environment where learning, feedback and support are prioritised. I believe Elite Motorsport is the best team to help me grow, gain confidence and maximise my potential in my first GB3 season.”
Team Owner Eddie Ives: “We’re delighted to welcome Kyuho to Elite Motorsport as he steps up into the GB3 Championship.
“He brings an impressive background from both international karting and Formula 4.
“GB3 is a significant step, particularly for a driver new to racing in the UK, we’re confident he’ll settle in quickly and use this season to build a strong foundation while pushing for competitive results in a highly challenging field.”
