Bedrin takes charge in GB3 race two at Red Bull Ring

12 July 2026

VRD Racing's Nikita Bedrin claimed his sixth win of the season in race two at the Red Bull Ring on Sunday morning.

The championship leader made a strong start from pole position, and led for the duration as he extended his championship lead once more.

Keeping it clean throughout the contest when several drivers were afflicted by track limits penalties, Bedrin was able to extend his gap by just a tenth or two each time around, taking the chequered flag with a three second margin to Xcel Motorsport's Lucas Fluxa, who passed Rodin's Martin Molnar on the run to turn one to take second place.

Fluxa in turn was able to keep teammate Rowan Campbell-Pilling at arms length, who was another to pass Molnar on the opening lap. The British driver finished third on the road, but dropped to eighth following the flag after accumulating a total of 15-seconds of track limits penalties.

Rodin's Maxim Rehm engaged in battle with teammate Molnar late in the race and made a crucial pass for what would turn out to be third place, once Campbell-Pilling's penalties were applied. Molnar had to settle for fourth, finishing just half a second behind.

VRD's Patricio Gonzalez was another driver to benefit from a clean race, the Mexican was locked in battle with Rodin's Abbi Pulling for much of the second half of the contest, and prevailed to take fifth, eight tenths ahead of Pulling in sixth. Pulling had DRS for much of the battle, and tried moves around the outside, only for Gonzalez to resist.

Rodrigo Gonzalez claimed seventh ahead of the penalised Campbell-Pilling, with Elite's Kyuho Lee and Xcel's Ricardo Baptista completing the top-10.

In an exhibition of fast and clean driving, Bedrin was practically inch perfect on the way to his second win of the weekend, as was Fluxa, who also banked a second rostrum of the weekend in an increasingly strong season.

At the opposite end of the scale, significant track limits penalties scuppered the results for Deagen Fairclough and Jacob Micallef respectively, with both plunging down the order from sixth and 11th on the road to 17th and 18th respectively after being awarded retrospective drive through penalties for track limits violations.

Arden's Leon Wilson was another to receive a drive through, while six other drivers received time penalties.

The final race of the weekend is due to start at 14.15 local time.
