Hitech's Deagen Fairclough set a new best ever GB3 Hungaroring lap time on the first day of testing at the Hungarian Grand Prix venue on Thursday.
The British driver recorded a 1m36.244s in the first of the day's three 30-minute sessions, with that effort being 1.2 seconds quicker than last year's pole position lap.
Fairclough, who also topped the second session of the day, was the only driver in the field to set their best lap first thing this morning, with championship leader Nikita Bedrin second fastest thanks to his session two effort, but still over four tenths away from the rapid Hitech contender.
Home hero Martin Molnar, making his Hungaroring debut, was third quickest, with his session three topper of 1m36.778s enough to vault him up the order on the combined timesheets.
Elite's Kyuho Lee was less than two tenths of a second further back to complete the top-four, and 0.059s clear of Hillspeed's Dante Vinci, who enjoyed one of his most promising pre-event test days of the season so far.
Hitech newcomer Jacob Micallef was an impressive sixth quickest as he gears up for his first GB3 race event. The series' first Maltese driver was within a second of the outright pace set by his teammate.
Hillspeed duo Peter Bouzinelos and Aurelia Nobels were next up, with Nobels just 0.003s quicker than Rodin's Abbi Pulling, with Xcel's Lucas Fluxa just six thousandths of a second behind to complete the top-10.
Elite's Flynn Jackes missed out on a spot inside the day one top-10 by a scant 0.034s.
Pre-event testing resumes tomorrow, with three further sessions at 08.30, 12.40 and 18.25 local time.
