Bedrin blasts to top spot in Hungaroring FP1

03 July 2026

VRD Racing's championship leader Nikita Bedrin scorched to a new GB3 all-time quickest lap at the Hungaroring in the first free practice session of the day on Friday morning.

Bedrin set a 1m36.039s on his penultimate lap of the session to pip Hitech's testing pace-setter Deagen Fairclough to top spot by just 0.043s in the opening 30-minute session.

Continuing his good form from yesterday, Hillspeed's Dante Vinci was third quickest and just a tenth of a second further back, while his fellow Australian teammate Peter Bouzinelos was a fraction behind in fourth.

Rodin's local contender Martin Molnar was 0.118s behind in fifth, 0.073s ahead of VRD's Patricio Gonzalez, with Hitech's series newcomer Jacob Micallef a similar distance behind in seventh.

Rodin's Maxim Rehm set the eighth quickest time, 0.012s away from Micallef and 0.012s clear of Elite's Flynn Jackes, with Xcel's Lucas Fluxa completing the top-10, which was covered by 0.786s.

The top-12 drivers were within a second of Bedrin's new GB3 benchmark time. Two more sessions follow today, with FP2 at 12.40 local time, and FP3 at 18.25.
