Fluxa sets Thursday testing pace at Silverstone

30 July 2026

Xcel Motorsport's Lucas Fluxa topped the times as pre-event preparations for this weekend's rounds at the Silverstone Grand Prix circuit got underway on Thursday.

The Spaniard's best lap of 1m50.358s came in the second of the day's three sessions, putting him over three tenths of a second clear of the field.

His teammate Rowan Campbell-Pilling was his nearest rival, having topped the second session late on before Fluxa took over. The British driver was 0.390s clear of Bedrin, who was quickest in session three, but was third overall courtesy of his session two lap.

Rodin duo Maxim Rehm and Abbi Pulling were next up, with Rehm topping the slower first session, while Pulling was fifth in sessions one and two, and fourth in the final test.

Hitech's Jacob Micallef completed the top-six on his first visit to Silverstone, a tenth of a second quicker than Rodin's Martin Molnar, who was one of only two drivers to set their best lap in session three.

VRD's Patricio Gonzalez was next up in eighth, just two thousandths behind Molnar and 0.056s ahead of Hitech's Deagen Fairclough, who was the other contender to set their best lap in the last session.

Elite's Flynn Jackes completed the day's top-10, which was covered by 1.262s.

A total of 24 cars took to the track at Silverstone today, with series newcomer Edu Robinson posting the 17th quickest time for Elite Motorsport. Arden also ran an extra car with an unnamed driver, while VRD handed a test to Indonesian driver Nadeem Rustombi in the team's fourth car. The GB3 test car was also in action with Zak Taylor at the wheel.

Testing resumes tomorrow with three more sessions at the British Grand Prix venue.
