Former stars of the GB3 paddock impressed at the Formula 3 post-season test, which took place at the Circuito de Jerez over the past two days (20/21 October).
Reza Seewooruthun and Keanu Al Azhari, who were both race-winners in GB3 last year, ended the test fourth and sixth on the timings, representing Rodin Motorsport and Hitech respectively.
Seewooruthun, who placed fifth in the 2025 GB3 drivers’ standings after taking one victory and four additional podiums, was 0.237 seconds off the pace having completed 38 laps in the faster morning session. The Briton was ninth-fastest in the afternoon and also ended day one inside the top-10.
Al Azhari was sixth-fastest in the morning session on both days, with his overall best effort coming in the morning session of day two and just 0.052s slower than Seewooruthun. Al Azhari has continued with Hitech since finishing sixth in GB3 last year and steps up to F3 for the 2027 season, becoming the first Emirati driver to compete in the championship.
Other drivers taking part in the test with GB3 experience were Jin Nakamura, Dion Gowda, Kanato Le, Michael Shin and Martin Molnar.
Nakamura ended the test 11th for Prema Racing with Gowda 15th for AIX Racing and Le 17th for Hitech. In a tight field, just 0.081s separated Gowda from Nakamura, with Le 0.029s further back.
Shin completed the Hitech line-up, posting a time 0.877s off the overall pace, with current GB3 title contender Molnar joining Nakamura at Prema and registering a lap only 1.187s slower than the fastest time during his first experience of F3 machinery.
