Aurelia Nobels is hoping to make a step forward when the GB3 Championship heads to Donington Park this weekend.
The Hillspeed driver had a tough weekend at Silverstone last month, having shown a lot of progress during the flyaway rounds at the Hungaroring and Red Bull Ring. Despite her troubles at the British Grand Prix venue though, she was pleased with her speed in the final contest.
Nobels had the misfortune of starting race three from the pitlane, but it was then that she was able to demonstrate her race pace to herself to end the weekend on a more positive note.
“I had the pace of the top five [in the final race] and I felt really good with the car,” she said. “We are going to focus and work as a team to come back stronger at Donington, because we know we have the pace to be in the top eight and have shown that in the last few rounds.”
The 19-year-old had secured her best result of the season in Budapest when she finished eighth in race two, before matching that the following weekend in the Spielberg reversed-grid contest.
Nobels had also produced her best qualifying displays of the season, lining up for all races on the sixth or seventh row of the grid and coming agonisingly close to reversed-grid pole.
Heading to Donington Park for the sixth round of the 2026 season, Nobels is hoping to rediscover that form at a venue where she was 12th- and 13th-fastest in pre-season testing.
“It was a decent test at Donington when we were there at the beginning of the season,” she said. “We have worked hard on the sim with the team and will try to get back to the top 10.”
“I want to be there and score good points,” she continued. “I know that if I put everything together in qualifying, I can start in the top eight and manage even finish the races in the top five, we just need to maximise everything.”
