Hitech's Deagen Fairclough continued his stunning second half of the season with another double pole position at Brands Hatch last weekend.
He recorded the fastest ever GB3 lap of the Grand Prix circuit in qualifying on Saturday, claiming his second pole double of the season, having also done so at Silverstone in August.
The British driver has now claimed five of the last six pole positions on offer, with only VRD's championship leader Nikita Bedrin interrupting that run at Donington Park earlier in the month.
Bedrin still holds the upper hand in this year's Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup, but Fairclough is now only one pole adrift heading to the Barcelona season finale in November, with two poles still up for grabs. Should Bedrin take a single pole at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, he will win this year's end of season prize, while Fairclough is the only driver who can beat him.
Fairclough received a total of £600 in prize money for his poles, as well as two trophies, presented by award founder John Cavill. The driver with the most pole positions at the end of the season will claim the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup and a £2,000 prize. The team of the driver with the most poles will also earn £2,000.
John is the son of Jack Cavill, who played a prominent role in supporting underfunded drivers from the 1960s onwards. John has followed in his footsteps since, and has been a partner of the GB3 Championship with the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup since the series' formation as BRDC F4 in 2013.
Previous winners of the Jack Cavill Pole Position Cup include F1 title contender George Russell, IndyCar podium finisher Linus Lundqvist and current Williams F1 reserve Luke Browning. F1 world champion Lando Norris and Haas F1 star Ollie Bearman are others to have received prizes as part of the award.
