Campbell-Pilling charges to emotional maiden GB3 win in Donington Park race three

06 September 2026

Xcel Motorsport’s Rowan Campbell-Pilling claimed his first GB3 win in the final race of the weekend at Donington Park.

The local driver made a blinding start from third to take the lead at Redgate on the first lap, but had to fend off a fierce challenge on lap four as first Kyuho Lee and then Abbi Pulling threatened.

He regained the lead at the end of a combative lap though, and headed home Hillspeed’s Peter Bouzinelos and Rodin’s Pulling, who scored her second podium of the weekend.

Elite’s Flynn Jackes started second, but was shuffled down to fourth, finishing just ahead of Xcel’s Lucas Fluxa. Jackes was later penalised 10 seconds for a false start, and dropped down to eighth.

Hitech's Deagen Fairclough ended another sensational weekend with a storming drive from 12th on the grid to fifth, ahead of Rodin's Maxim Rehm and Elite's Lee, who fell down the order after his challenge for the lead.

Rodin's Martin Molnar and Hitech's Jacob Micallef completed the top-10.

Campbell-Pilling's stunning start fired him past the front row-starting Elite pair of Lee and Jackes, and he led the first three laps. Lee was looming ominously in his mirrors though, and the Korean tried a move around the outside of McLeans on the fourth tour, only to be edged into the gravel.

Pulling, who had shot from sixth to third took full advantage, and passed a delayed Campbell-Pilling around the outside of Coppice moments later. But Campbell-Pilling was determined to regain the position at his home venue, and powered back into P1 after a drag race exiting Goddards.

Pulling's grip on second place was then removed on lap five, as Bouzinelos from fourth on the grid blasted past on the approach to McLeans.

The Australian kept the Xcel Motorsport car within his sights for the remainder of the contest, but wasn't quite able to get close enough to threaten the lead, with Campbell-Pilling holding on to win by 0.701s.
