Zhenrui Chi, who is known as Newman Chi, makes his GB3 debut with Hillspeed at Monza this weekend.

The Chinese driver races with an Italian licence, and began karting at the age of five in his homeland, before moving to Europe in 2019.

His single-seater debut came in 2024 in the Formula Trophy UAE, with two podiums and a pole position, and then participated in this year’s F4 Middle East Championship, finishing ninth overall.

His main programme this year has been in Italian F4, and after showing big improvements throughout the season, finished fifth overall, with his first single-seater win coming at Monza in June, whilst taking three further podiums during the year
