Patricio Gonzalez

VRD Racing

Biography

Patricio Gonzalez stays in GB3 for the 2026 season, reuniting with the Anglo-American VRD Racing squad with whom he contested the second half of 2025.

The Mexican driver was able to quickly get up to speed in GB3, earning a best qualifying result of seventh at Donington, and a top race result of sixth at the same venue.

Further demonstrating his potential, he earned another top-10 at Donington Park, with a five place gain compared to his starting position, and ninth at Monza during the season finale weekend.

Before heading to Europe for the first time halfway through the year, Patricio had raced exclusively in the Americas. Like his brother Rodrigo, who joined GB3 with him, he only began karting in 2022, and made the step up to single-seaters in 2024, with a stint in the USF Juniors category, with a best result of sixth at Portland and five top-10 finishes in total.

He also enjoyed a competitive run in the YACademy Winter Series, with four top-six finishes. He began the 2025 season in the USA again, finishing eighth overall in his second YACademy Winter Series, and completed five races in USF2000, including events at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Road America.

With 12 GB3 races to his name, Patricio gained significant mileage in the weeks following the season finale at Monza, visiting key UK circuits as well as three of the European venues on this year’s calendar.
