Hillspeed has completed its three-driver line-up for the new GB3 Championship season by confirming Australia’s Peter Bouzinelos for the full 2026 campaign.
Re-launching his single-seater motor racing career after more than a year out of action, following a horrendous accident in his homeland where the teenager’s bicycle was hit by a car, Bouzinelos is ready to push forward in his maiden season of GB3 action.
The 17-year-old was set to make the step-up from Formula 4 into GB3 last season, before the road traffic collision resulted in a series of significant injuries. The journey back to full health has been a long and frustrating one for Bouzinelos, but his desire to compete is stronger than ever as he prepares for his first season racing at F3 level within the UK and Europe.
Starting out in karting almost a decade ago, Bouzinelos went on to achieve a series of highlights including second place as Vice-Champion in the 2018 Australian Cadet Karting Championship, second in the Australian KA2 Karting Championship in 2022 and he supported Australia at the Motorsport Games in karting. He also raced internationally in the WSK Euro Series and WSK Open Cup.
As part of a packed 2023 where he continued in karting, Bouzinelos also debuted in cars with selected outings in Australian Formula Open and Formula 4 South East Asia. In the former he was an AF04 class winner and took two other class podiums, in the latter he raced to an impressive outright podium in the championship finale at Sepang International Circuit in Malaysia.
His first full season in single-seaters came in 2024, earning a pole position in the Formula Winter Series and contesting several races in F4 UAE. His focus was the full F4 Spanish Championship which delivered a best race finish of fourth place overall, and a rookie class podium.
Following the enforced delay to his GB3 graduation in 2025, the past two days of official GB3 Championship pre-season testing at Snetterton marked Bouzinelos’ first time at the wheel of a race car in a competitive scenario since the end of 2024.
